I went to City Harvest Church with Dolo and Wewel last Saturday.
It was the first service at Suntec Singapore.
It was so crowded.
People were so excited.
The service was so amazing.
I met some new friends.
The theme of the night was I choose love.
Loving God wholeheartedly and loving people fervently.
The preaching is from my favorite verse.
1 Corinthians 13 : 1-8
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all my possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies. they will cease;
when there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Pastor Kong also mention the ten commandments by Mother Theresa.
1. People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered. Love them anyway.
2. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
3. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
5. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
6. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the littlest people with the littlest ideas. Think big anyway.
7. People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
9. People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help them anyway.
10. Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the best you have anyway
