One step ahead

The grace of God will sustain us until the very end.
This is the love we proclaim.

Have a little faith by Mitch Albom

Having more does not keep you from wanting more.
And if you want more - to be richer, more beautiful, more well known - you are missing the big picture, happiness will never come.
What profits a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul?

"You take from me,
yet I will praise You."

Note to Self

He is going to test you
He is going to test you and push you
and challenge you to new limits inside of yourself
You are going to want to give up and give in
but His plan is better than that
He works better than that
And you have to keep going
Even when you don't know the direction
Even when the road look untraveled upon
Even when there no lights to map the roadway
Just keep going
There is something waiting at the end of this
And all this mess is a part of your becoming
Those trials prove there is gold
Gold all around
Gold you just can't see yet
but baby it's gonna be so clear one day soon
So clear
So clear

Devotion

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you will recover your life. I will show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you will learn to live freely and lightly."

Give Thanks

A few days ago
I went to an orphanage
I've been there before
several times
and I always got the same feeling
sad and amazed
by those kids
they are full of faith and hope
and I know I learned a lot from them

GOD LOVES HIS CHILDREN

A Reminder

What I got for my daily devotional today by Pastor Kong.

Choose Love!

There’s a common myth in our culture today that love is uncontrollable. We hear things like, “I can’t help it. I’m falling in love!” Or, “I can’t help it. I’m falling out of love!” The reason so many have bought into this lie is that they’ve confused love with attraction or infatuation. But that’s not love!

When you’re attracted to someone, it doesn’t mean you love them. Attraction can actually be the opposite of love because it is often self-focused. It’s about how this person makes me feel. But we’re told in Scripture that love “does not seek its own” (1 Cor. 13:5) and it “never fails” (13:8). Whereas attraction does seek its own and is fleeting.

Love is a choice. So when one spouse says to the other, “I’m sorry, I just don’t love you anymore.” He or she is really saying “I’ve chosen not to love you anymore.” How else could Jesus command us to “love one another” (John 13:34), unless we can choose not to love?

God is love. And because of that, He’s the expert at love. So the closer you are to Him, the more you’ll make the choice to love others. And the more you choose to love and commit to love, the more loving you’ll become. Make the choice to love others today!

SO REAL

I still can't believe that I won a CAR.
My mind keep repeating what had happened yesterday.
From the phone call, denial, afraid that it might only be a hoax,
met the mall management, got on stage, took some photos.
It is one of the best day in my life.
I still have to pay for the tax though.
My parents are so happy and surprised.
My mom kept saying that this is God's blessing.
I've been blessed.
So blessed.

Welcome February

January has come to an end.
The first month of 2012 was okay.
Celebrating Chinese New Year with family and friends was so much fun.
And here comes February.
February always reminds me of Valentine day.
So I'll end this post with a poem about love.
I've got this from my church monthly magazine.

Marriage takes three to be complete - Beth Stuckwisch
It is not enough for two to meet,
they must be united in love by love's Creator, God above.
Then their love will be firm and strong,
able to last when things go wrong.
Because they have felt God's love
and know He's aways there,
He'll never go.
And they have both loved Hi in kind,
with all the heart and soul and mind.
And in that love they've found the way,
to love each other every day.
A marriage that follows God's plan
takes more than a woman and a man.
It needs a oneness that can be only found from Christ.
Marriage takes three.

Living Without Regret

by Joyce Meyer - posted January 19, 2012

But one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. —Philippians 3:13-14
Many people stay trapped in the past. There is only one thing that can be done about the past, and that is forget it. When we make mistakes, as we all do, the only thing we can do is ask God's forgiveness and go on.
Like Paul, we are all pressing toward the mark of perfection, but none of us has arrived. I believe Paul enjoyed his life and ministry and this "one aspiration" of his was part of the reason why.
Like us, he was pressing toward the mark of perfection, admitting that he had not arrived, but having insight on how to enjoy his life while he was making the trip.
Mistakes are a regular part of life, and I spent many years hating myself for each of my failures. I desperately wanted to be a good Christian. I wanted to please God. But I still thought it was my perfect performance that would please Him. I had not yet learned that He was pleased with my faith. In Hebrews 11:6 we read, But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him.
Even when we make mistakes and waste precious time as a result of those mistakes, being upset when we could be enjoying life, it is useless to continue being miserable for an extended period of time because of the original mistake. Two wrongs never make anything right.
If you made a mistake twenty years ago or ten minutes ago, there is still nothing you can do about it except ask for forgiveness, receive it, forget the past, and go on. There may be some restitution you can make to an individual you hurt; and, if that is the case, by all means do so.
But the bottom line is that you still must let go of the past in order to grasp the future. Until you do so, you will not enjoy life the way God intended when He sent Jesus.

Bring A Smile to A Child

Hello Angel,

I feel bits of regrets not being able to speak much to you this time. but anyway, this year's was scaled-down but still very fun. And the pictures you took were so awesome! I love the black and white!
Anyways, hope you have fully recovered and enjoyed the two days. I was thinking.. volunteering there for two days are okay, but to really live under such conditions is still not what we are all used to. Yet, the kids count their blessings.

I asked Samuel, whether the orphanage has enough money to get by, he answered, 'God will ensure we do.'
I also praised him that his English got better every year we visit, and he said that is his mission.
He also told me that happiness is paling penting. which reminds me not to grumble so much.

During the bazaar, michel noted that the kids actually thought wisely how to spend their limited points, and they really only desire to get the simplest things.

I hope Sharon enjoyed herself as well. I could see that initially she was a bit reserved, but it doesn't take long for her to blend in with the rest. When she cried because she got to leave early on the first day, it actually really touches.

Thank you, Angel. I hope we can do this again next year.
Sampai Jumpa lagi!

Love,
Lihui.

In the Name of God

A few days ago,
when I went out with my friends,
one of my friend's mom called her.
She was using the loudspeaker mode,
so we could hear it.
Before she hung up the phone,
her mom told her something
that really impressed me.
She said,
"In everything you do,
do not forget to say Bismillah
(In the name of God)
so whatever happen,
even if any bad thing happen,
its all already in His plan."
It reminds me of my favorite passage in the bible.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future
and a hope.

One Hand Man

See the pictures above.
This man has only one hand.
And he is still working for his life.
He do not give up.
He do not just sit around
and wait for people to feed him.
One hand will do.
In life,
we often see the things that we do not have,
and take for granted for the things we have.
So from now on,
start to say I do have,
instead of I do not have.
For in life,
you will not have every thing.
And make sure you appreciate well enough,
for the things you have.
For I believe,
this is what God wants us to do.

No Fear

by Joyce Meyer - posted October 22, 2011

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
—2 Timothy 1:7
In this passage of Scripture, Paul was encouraging Timothy and saying, "You may feel like giving up, but you have everything you need to succeed. The Holy Spirit gives you peace and the power to face anything. Press on without fear!"
You may not understand what is going on in the world around you, but you must trust God through it all. You can pray and ask God for answers, but when heaven is silent you need to keep doing what God has told us to do and just trust Him. God will make all the pieces work together for His purpose, even when you don't see tomorrow clearly. Tomorrow's answers usually don't come until tomorrow.

Today's Message

there will be no glory without suffering
to experience glory means to suffer first
as a Christian we must endure
enjoying the process until the very end
then we will be lifted up
from one glory to another glory

Right Here Right Now

I feel blessed.
For everything that had happened, is happening and will happen in the future.

I feel safe.
For I know I have an amazing God.

I feel loved.
For I realize the presence of God trough my family and friends.

Lastly, I feel content.
For I know this is where I supposed to be.
